So, picture this : Shabnam jets off to the US to dive into architecture studies. At one of those school happy hours, a friend dropped the bombshell: "Hey, there's this other Persian student named Erfan in your major, a year ahead. You gotta meet him!" But you know how it goes – days turned into weeks, and they never crossed paths. Meanwhile, Shabnam kept crossing paths with this adorable dog named Juno on campus. Little did she know, the human on the other end of this furry's leash was none other than Erfan himself.

Later one day, as Shabnam sat in the studio corridor, enjoying a lunch of ghorme sabzi lovingly prepared by her sister, Erfan strolls by. He catches a whiff of that deliciousness and goes, "Hey, are you Persian?" That's Persian for "Hey, you got ghorme sabzi there!" And just like that, convo sparks over a mutual love for food. Little did her sister know, that simple lunch would start a love story like one from a Bollywood movie. Fast forward through architectural woes and caffeine-fueled all-nighters, Shabnam's all set for her final, but Erfan's lagging behind. Shabnam noticed Erfan seemed particularly overwhelmed. With her own final just days before his, she's like, "Hey, after my final, I got you covered if you need help." Erfan's grin couldn't get any wider. And that, my friends, is how a love story (of sorts) began, fueled by ghorme sabzi, Korean BBQ, Kale Pache and good intentions.

Erfan had been planning for so long about popping the big question. He wanted it to be epic, personal and unforgettable. So, he took matters into his own hands and designed the ring himself. Genius move, right? He chose Aspen, Colorado, as the backdrop for his grand gesture. With the ring barely finished a few hours before their flight, stress levels soared higher than the Rocky Mountains, they were this close to missing their flight, but thankfully, they made it.

And so, in the heart of the Rockies, their ski adventure turned into a tale of love, courage, and a proposal that sparkled like freshly fallen snow.
